The casino construction project in Cam Ranh refused – Vietnam

The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance released the verdict on casino development proposal in the Cam Ranh peninsula, in the province of Khanh Hoa in Vietnam. In the official document, the Ministry did not approve the project. A priori, the evaluation of all casino construction projects in Vietnam must await the implementation of the decree which will regulate the market of casino games. The government and relevant agencies are considering the subject. Indeed, they study a draft bill for regulating casino industry in Vietnam. As a reminder, the proposal that has been rejected was submitted by the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province in March. The complex is expected to comprise villas, hotels, a marina and a casino equipped with a wide variety of games. A huge budget of $ 16.1 million is planned for its construction.

Note that the Vietnamese do not have the right to play in local casinos. If the decree is approved, access to local casinos will be allowed but under restricted conditions. But the famous decree will also give foreign operators the opportunity to invest in the casino industry in Vietnam. They are interested in this type of investment. The month of March, for example, Banyan Tree Capital, a subsidiary of Banyan Tree Holdings Ltd requested the construction of a gambling complex in Thua Thien-Hue Province.
